This internship program provides an immersive introduction to our company, with various projects and tasks designed to equip you with hands-on experience in finance and accounting.

**Job Description**

This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn about our company's responsibilities in Accounting, Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax, or Enterprise Solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Assist accountants with routine month-end and year-end processes as needed, including account reconciliations, journal entries, control testing, research projects, and completion of various tax forms and census reports.* Support the Risk Management team in analyzing, executing, and monitoring derivative transactions to hedge risks in commodities, foreign currency, and fixed income markets.* Work on projects focused in one or several core areas of financial planning, such as consolidating Simplot company financial projections, cash forecasting, investment portfolio analysis, helping to shape financial strategies and targets, and distilling complex financial information into digestible and actionable materials for leaders.* Prepare federal, state, and international income tax returns, assist with compiling financial information reports to support tax returns and accounting, prepare sales/use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions across the US, compile information to support sales tax audits, monitor and record property tax bills and assessments using tax technology, and prepare asset listings for property tax reporting and payments.* Develop policies and procedures for J.R. Simplot Company's Payables and Receivables, plan and execute large improvement projects in coordination with your mentor and project team, deliver presentations on your experience to JR Simplot Company executives, record and maintain accurate and complete financial records, prepare and review weekly costing reports, conduct insightful analysis into business processes or industry topics, research and data entry.* **Required Skills and Qualifications**

* Must be currently enrolled in an academic accounting or finance program, from a nationally accredited educational facility/university and working toward an accounting or finance degree.* Completed at least an Intermediate Accounting course required for accounting department internships* Must be at least a Junior or above Accounting/Finance degree program highly preferred* Ability to quickly learn routine computer applications, self-starter with a working knowledge of Excel, motivated to seek opportunities for growth and development, ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment.
