Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a substitute nurse. As a substitute nurse, you will provide medical care and support to students in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform medical treatments and procedures, including vital sign recordings, medication administration, and first aid as needed.
- Screen students for illnesses, height, weight, scoliosis, vision, and hearing.
- Communicate effectively with school nurses, staff, and parents to ensure seamless care.
- Carry out medical providers' orders and maintain working knowledge of school health care regulations.
- Administer medications at other locations as needed and work with diabetic students to promote self-directed care.
- Civil Service eligibility as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a valid New York State Registered Professional Nursing (RN) license or valid New York State Licensed Professional Nursing (LPN) license.
- AED/CPR Certification required, with renewal through Monroe One BOCES.
- Pediatric experience preferred, with the ability to perform CPR in a kneeling/floor-based position for a minimum of two continuous minutes.
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including responding to emergency situations quickly.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced school environment, with frequent interactions with students, staff, and parents. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality care.
