Pharmacy Technician Job Description

As a Pharmacy Technician at Rite Aid, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacies. Your primary responsibility will be to assist pharmacists in dispensing medications, processing prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service, answering patient questions, and resolving any issues that may arise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enter prescription information into the computer system, including patient searches, prescriber searches, and insurance billing.
  • Accept customer and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions.
  • Retrieve medication from inventory and create prescription labels.
  • Place medication into prescription containers and complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions.
  • Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.
  • Assist in inventory management processes, including order review, inventory returns, and restocking shelves.

Requirements:
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
