The Agile Project Manager at Mouser Electronics is responsible for planning, tracking, and leading project management functions of assigned IS projects throughout all phases of the Scrum, Kanban, or Waterfall process.

They may act as a Scrum Master for one or more Scrum, Kanban, and/or Waterfall teams by helping develop, maintain, and continuously improve methodologies, policies, and procedures for Mouser's IT projects.

They are responsible for the overall progress of their projects and assigned teams requiring them to develop relationships that support agility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaches and mentors all team members on Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall principles and best practices, promoting continual education.
  • Promotes an environment of transparency and respect, providing a foundation for building a self-organizing, high-performing team where individuals can realize their full potential.
  • Facilitates cross-functional interactions between their project teams (i.e. Scrum, Kanban and Waterfall) ensuring that cross-team dependencies are managed appropriately.
  • Works with Product Owners to help them maintain a quality product backlog, ensuring the team always has well-defined backlog items ready to work on.
  • Works to increase team efficiency by encouraging out-of-the-box thinking and consistent improvement while staying focused on quality and timeliness.
  • Ensures their team is fully aware of all relevant information needed to be productive.
  • Tracks and removes impediments impacting the team and safeguards the team from outside distractions and interferences.
  • Generates performance metrics for the team (burndowns, burnups, velocity, capacity, status updates, etc.) and ensures the information is available to the rest of the organization.
  • Schedules and facilitates project meetings as needed (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Up, Sprint Retrospective, etc.).
  • Provides regular support to developers, business analysts / product owners, IS leadership and company staff.

Requirements:

  • At least 2-4 years Waterfall project management experience required.
  • At least 2-4 years Scrum Master experience required.
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor all team members on Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall principles and best practices, promoting continual education.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban and Lean).
  • Experienced out-of-the-box thinker who focuses on consistent improvement while staying centered on quality and timeliness.
  • Ability to predict risks and impediments, and to quickly neutralize them before impacting the team.
  • Ability to predict the health of future sprints by using performance metrics for the team (burndowns, burnups, velocity, capacity, status updates etc.).
