Job Title: HVAC Journeyman

Daikin Applied is seeking an experienced HVAC Journeyman to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance of HVAC equipment, including repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance of all HVAC & applied equipment and on-site start-up procedures.
  • Repair and replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
  • Perform intermediate to advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting, and brazing of CAT I, II, and III equipment.
  • Conduct warranty service application by independently inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality for all CAT I, II, and III equipment.
  • Verify functionality of new CAT I, II & III equipment.
  • Lead the rebuild and retrofit of CAT I, II and III level units.
  • Direct apprentice level technicians through hands-on demonstration of the necessary steps and introduce centrifugal rebuilds.
  • Problem-solve issues using reasoning and logic.
  • Communicate with individuals who installed the system.
  • Program new control systems using touchscreens and computers.
  • Assist the owner's representatives to demonstrate that the system has been set-up properly.
  • Document actions taken on the job-site to be included with project report.
  • Direct discussions with building owners to assist with ongoing maintenance and service.
  • Prepare wiring diagrams.
  • Wear personal protective equipment when completing service tasks.
  • Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.
  • 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • State license or certifications as required by market.
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary.
