Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapy Student, you will provide evaluation and care for respiratory therapy patients under the supervision of experienced professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments to patients as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver and assess patient response to ordered therapy, ensuring accurate and timely care.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to healthcare teams.
  • Provide patient education on diseases, medications, and treatment options.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses, prioritizing patient safety.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.
  • No prior experience required.
Physical Demands
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication.
Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Respiratory Educ Permit - Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
  • Letter of Acknowledgment of Receipt of Application for Provisional Respiratory Care Practitioner - Oklahoma Medical Board.
  • Provisional Respiratory Care Therapist - Oklahoma Medical Board.
