We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group Careers. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
- Assist the Executive Chef in planning and creating menus that meet the needs of our clients.
- Produce and execute catering events that exceed our clients' expectations.
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with our marketing and culinary teams.
- A.S. or equivalent experience in culinary arts or a related field.
- Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
- Catering experience is a plus.
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
- Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
- ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
