Position Summary:
The Production Scheduling Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the Juice production timetable to achieve operational targets through an effective resource allocation strategy that enhances overall productivity. This role involves the creation and upkeep of daily production and blending schedules in partnership with Supply Chain and Operations Management. The specialist also oversees any production interruptions, delays, or challenges that may affect operational effectiveness and modifies schedules accordingly to maximize plant output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and prioritize workflow for each production line based on established production sequences and lead times.
- Collaborate with Production management to adjust production runs that cannot be executed as initially planned.
- Conduct proactive analysis of production specifications and plant capacity data to ascertain manufacturing processes, tools, and workforce needs.
- Record and report any shortages and quality concerns related to materials and ingredients, facilitating corrective measures to minimize production disruptions.
- Engage with operations and supply chain teams daily to address issues regarding material availability, equipment malfunctions, changes in customer orders, engineering modifications, and other deviations affecting the production schedule.
- Serve as the primary liaison for daily communications with Logistics Planners and operations management.
- Verify production completion at the end of each shift, ensuring all scheduled orders are fulfilled, case counts are accurately reflected in the shift report, and any shortages are accounted for.
- Participate in daily production meetings to review the weekly production agenda, focusing on efficient changeovers, communicating timelines for re-worked products, and forecasting the weekly shutdown plan.
- Provide insights to supervisors regarding customer order modifications made throughout the day and their impact on production sequences.
- Adhere to Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards.
- Execute additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, production forecasting, or scheduling.
- Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of and compliance with current health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
- Willingness to support and provide coverage for other schedulers as needed.
- Ability to maintain focus and precision in high-pressure situations.
