Electronics Engineer Specialist

Parra Consulting Group, Inc. is a leading provider of engineering services to the defense industry. As an Electronics Engineer Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.
Job Summary
This position involves conducting firmware analysis and reverse engineering state-of-the-art commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) electronic devices. The successful candidate will be responsible for research, testing/debugging, performance validation, quality control, and deployment.
You will work closely with the C5ISR Center Technical Forensics and Exploitation Lab to develop key technologies and processes. Additionally, you will conduct basic research, testing, debugging, performance validation, quality control, and deployment related to unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) electronics.
Your expertise will be applied to fundamental investigations, evaluations, applications, and design implementations of new technologies, focusing on integrating them into UAS platforms.
You will also assist engineers in design investigations, product replication, and development processes, focusing on UAS applications.
Aid in the development of test fixtures using the latest electronic and mechanical CAD software, 3D printing, and PCB fabrication, with a particular emphasis on UAS requirements.
Gain immersion and growth opportunities in manufacturing processes and test methods, specifically related to UAS technologies.
Lead and participate in system test and evaluation efforts to ensure the system meets required specifications.
Candidates must have experience with IDA Pro or MPLAB and a significant understanding of reverse engineering tasks, including static/dynamic analysis, machine code emulation, and firmware review.
A comprehensive understanding of integrated circuit architectures and networking, cybersecurity, Linux, cryptography, and computer programming is required.
Familiarity with RF communications, circuitry, benchtop experience with test equipment, and performing standard RF measurements is also necessary.
Soldering and re-working electronic circuit boards and components are essential skills for this position.
A strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills are necessary to provide detailed technical analysis and develop accurate reports.
