Job Title: Mechanical Construction Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical Construction Project Manager to oversee the mechanical aspects of commercial ground-up construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the mechanical scope of projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the mechanical scope of commercial ground-up construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop project timelines and mechanical system designs.
  • Procure materials, labor, and subcontractors for HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders regarding project status, budget, and risks.
  • Lead the project team in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during construction.
  • Ensure that mechanical systems are tested and commissioned according to industry standards and client expectations.
  • Foster relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Track project costs and manage the financial performance of assigned projects, ensuring profitability.
  • Ensure all safety regulations are followed on-site, and that mechanical systems meet applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager in commercial construction, specifically with ground-up projects.
  • Proven track record in managing mechanical scopes (HVAC, plumbing, piping) on complex commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with LEED and sustainable building practices is a plus.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is desirable but not required.
