Job Title: Catering Captain
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This is a full-time salaried position with a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Description:
The Catering Captain is responsible for effectively running individual catered events, including setup, execution, and breakdown. This position requires a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The Catering Captain must be able to work well independently and as a member of a team, and must be able to lift and carry heavy objects as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and catered events in a high-volume environment
- Set up, run, and break down events, including setup of tables, chairs, and bars, serving food and beverages, and cleaning and sanitizing equipment and facilities
- Manage event staff, including recruiting, training, and supervising servers, bartenders, and other event staff
- Coordinate with customers, catering managers, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of events
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and revenue for catering events
- Monitor and maintain event budgets, including tracking expenses and preparing financial reports
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in food and beverage service, with a focus on events and catering
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with ease
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and to work on feet for long periods
- Knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, and ability to communicate effectively about these products
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
