Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven individual to fill the role of Operations Manager. This position is essential for overseeing our operations and fostering strong relationships with both customers and contractors, grounded in our core values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage transportation and intermodal services through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the recruitment, relationship management, and retention of Independent Contractors.
  • Facilitate the training and development of Customer Service Coordinators and Dispatchers.
  • Supervise administrative staff to ensure accurate billing and invoicing, as well as precise settlement payments to independent contractors.
  • Implement continuous process improvements to enhance reliability and minimize service defects, including missed customer appointments and demurrage costs.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support organizational growth and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in intermodal transportation is required.
  • 3-4 years of experience working with the ports of Baltimore is mandatory.
  • A high school diploma is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the trucking industry, specifically in intermodal operations.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience is essential.
  • Strong understanding of HOS and DOT regulations is necessary.
  • Experience with owner-operator fleets is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems; experience with Trinium is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this role include frequent communication with external contacts and team members, the ability to remain stationary for extended periods, and the capacity to operate a computer and other office equipment consistently.
