Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Meat Associate to join our team at SpartanNash. As a Meat Associate, you will play a critical role in preparing and merchandising meat products to meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and produce meat products to meet production planner requirements
  • Package and label meat products according to program plans
  • Merchandise meat products to meet flight plan and merchandising expectations
  • Stock backroom with meat products, rotating and dating cases and buckets
  • Notify the Meat Manager of product and supply needs
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve growth in our SpartanNash Retail stores
  • Understand basic mathematical functions and communicate tasks, recipes, weights, and measures to other associates
  • Follow all PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of retail or related experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Detail-oriented
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate may be required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. The work environment is typically a retail store setting with varied temperatures and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
