Manager of Ambulatory Care Nursing

Reports To: Director of Clinical Education and Support
Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the nursing staff within the outpatient care setting. This position is essential for ensuring that healthcare services are delivered efficiently and safely, while also addressing the needs of patients promptly. The manager employs the nursing process to assess and enhance care delivery within the facility, collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals and the center's management team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a clinical leader and resource for ambulatory care nursing staff, collaborating with the center manager on daily clinical operations.
- Supervise the RN responsible for Employee Health, ensuring effective follow-up on vaccinations, outbreak management, and communication regarding quarantines.
- Oversee the operation of Covid vaccination clinics, ensuring adequate staffing and inventory management, while providing education to both staff and patients about the vaccines.
- Facilitate monthly nursing meetings to keep nursing staff informed about educational and organizational updates, with the possibility of more frequent meetings based on needs.
- Evaluate the nursing staffing model and propose enhancements for operational efficiency.
- Manage nursing staff oversight, including timekeeping, leave approvals, attendance monitoring, and productivity assessments during remote work.
- Address nursing requirements related to grants, ensuring compliance with grant specifications.
- Assist in the development, revision, and review of policies and procedures to maintain compliance with best practices.
- Provide recommendations to the center manager regarding administrative actions for Patient Service Representatives, Clinical Medical Assistants, and Medical Interpreters.
- Deliver clinical training to medical assistants and oversee their competency evaluations.
- Administer direct nursing care to patients, including conducting assessments and performing nursing procedures.
