Position Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Pharmacy Department by managing pharmaceutical tasks effectively. Responsibilities include maintaining optimal pharmaceutical inventory through efficient purchasing practices, establishing and nurturing relationships with medical service representatives, and ensuring the proper handling and timely delivery of medications. The technician must adhere to hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and maintain compliance documentation. A focus on enhancing medication-related quality and fostering positive customer relations is essential.
Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Pharmacy Director.
Employment Classification:
Non-exempt
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Licenses: An Arizona pharmacy technician license and PTCB certification are required upon hire.
Skills: Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are essential. The ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and adapt to new technologies is necessary. A positive attitude and even temperament in stressful situations are crucial.
