This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Research Associate in the Center for Biotechnology and Genomic Medicine. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for designing and performing experiments, developing and evaluating new research techniques and procedures, analyzing results, and preparing data for publications and grant applications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and perform a variety of examinations of specimens for the presence of diseases and pathological conditions
- Prepare culture media, incubate and culture bacteria, stain slides, perform molecular biology techniques, electrophoresis, and work with experimental animals
- Oversee junior members in the lab and assist the Principal Investigator in writing publications and grant applications
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area
- Experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical trial research
- Or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or other natural, life, health care, or materials science directly related to the research area, and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience, previous supervisory experience
- Experience in genetic, molecular, and/or cellular biology techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
