Comprehensive Physical Therapy Assistant Role in New York

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in Stony Point, NY. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care through all phases of physical therapy.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, dedicated, and passionate about improving the health and quality of life of our patients. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that works together to provide exceptional care.

Duties:
- Aids Physical Therapist with patient care including assisting, instructing, and scheduling patients
- Assists patients with all phases of physical therapy treatment and techniques including exercise instruction, manual therapy techniques, activities of daily living, and isokinetic program
- Assists Physical Therapists in performing range of motion and stretching exercises with patients
- Assists Physical Therapists with documenting and completing notes following patient appointments
- Completes appropriate forms and home treatment instructions for patients as needed
- Assists patients with understanding prescribed health care treatments
- Sets up exercise equipment in treatment rooms as needed by pushing, wheeling or carrying equipment
- Ensures billing forms are accurate and complete prior to submission to billing department
- Escorts patients to appropriate treatment areas
- Maintains proper condition and cleanliness of treatment rooms, sterilizes instruments and equipment following each patient visit and ensures treatment rooms are sufficiently stocked with towels and related supplies
- Monitors inventory of supplies, informs management of supply shortages, examines incoming supply orders, and stores in appropriate area
- Provides effective communication to Physicians as required
Requirements:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PTA license in NY
Estimated Salary: $62,000 - $72,000 per year (depending on years of experience)
