About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Intervention Specialist at the Columbus Humanities, Arts, & Technology Academy in Columbus, Ohio. This role plays a critical part in supporting the educational and behavioral goals of all students, with a focus on those with an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to interpret student abilities and disabilities, develop intervention strategies, and modify general education curricula as needed.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction and write behavior improvement plans.
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and develop goals and objectives that align with state-specific achievement goals.
  • Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction, integrating culturally responsive teaching methods into lessons and interactions.
  • Advise a designated set of students, communicate regularly with families about student progress, and participate in non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • A current state license holder.
  • Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Experience working in a full-room inclusion model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
  • A high level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
  • Pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI). Experience working in a multi-cultural setting is preferred.
