Job Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty - Lifelong Learning will be responsible for teaching non-credit courses for the Lifelong Learning program within the Continuing Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) Department. This position will involve teaching proposed or existing courses approved by the program manager and director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Propose and plan detailed, relevant, progressive lesson plans to engage students.
  • Provide course descriptions and learning objectives to the Program Manager.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the various needs and levels of students.
  • Promote cooperation and mutual respect among students.
  • Provide master copies or lists for instructional materials in a timely manner.
  • Provide timely notice if unable to attend class or scheduled meetings.
  • Submit class evaluations and other documents as directed by program staff.
  • Participate in the student complaint process.
  • Support the stated mission, policies, and procedures for Frederick Community College.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate certifications, degrees, and/or experience required to teach course offered.
  • Previous experience teaching.
  • Basic computer skills necessary for utilizing technology in the classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching personal enrichment classes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
