Gastro Health Medical Assistant Job Description

At Gastro Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering outstanding medical services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and room patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  • Update patient medical charts with accurate and timely documentation.
  • Manage phone triage and take appropriate action under the direction of our healthcare providers.
  • Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with physician orders, demonstrating technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Provide patient education and personal care to ensure patient comfort and well-being.
  • Process prescription refills under the direction of our healthcare providers, following clinic protocol.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in interacting with colleagues, managers, and healthcare providers.
  • Take direction and initiate actions to ensure seamless patient care, adhering to safety procedures and guidelines.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, with AAMA certification preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • eClinicalWorks (eCW) experience preferred.
