A production facility is currently in need of skilled operators for various roles including Sit Down Forklift Operators, Clamp Forklift Operators, Baler Operators, Bander Operators, and Sheet Line Operators for 2nd and 3rd shifts. The specific position will be assigned based on individual skills and availability during the orientation and training process.
Available Shifts:- 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM - $20.15/hr
- 3rd Shift: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM - $20.25/hr
- Must be prepared to work 12-hour shifts regularly.
- Consistently feed various grades of cardboard and paper onto the baler conveyor to maximize product value.
- Ensure a steady supply of sorted materials to the baler for uninterrupted processing.
- Maintain an organized inventory area by properly stacking empty containers and clearing debris.
- Optimize the baled value of materials while minimizing labor costs through effective planning.
- Oversee all aspects of safely operating the baler, including cleanup and suggesting operational improvements.
- Produce neat and compact bales.
- Operate shredding equipment to dispose of unusable materials.
- Assist in collaborative feeding tasks as needed.
- Keep accurate records of bales produced.
- Adhere to all company policies, particularly regarding safety and cleanliness.
- Responsible for collecting scrap materials outside the facility.
- Accurately band units as they move down the conveyor, monitoring for quality and directing units to the appropriate shipping line.
- Safely resolve jams following the company's lockout/tagout procedures.
- Verify load tags against unit sizes for accuracy.
- Apply appropriate dunnage before banding.
- Band units according to specified patterns.
- Ensure units exit on the correct discharge line.
- Reload the banding machine with full rolls when necessary.
- Maintain a well-stocked work area with necessary materials.
- Match load tags with units, measuring and inspecting for quality continuously.
- Report any discrepancies in measurements or inspections immediately.
- Ensure load tags correspond with unit dimensions and scores.
- Restack units that do not meet quality standards.
- Organize units as per customer specifications and shipping requirements, adhering to all special instructions.
- Dispose of defective sheets and zero cuts, ensuring all adjustments are recorded on the load tag.
- Insert appropriate dunnage for effective unitization.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong teamwork skills with effective communication abilities.
- Proficient in recognizing numbers and sequences.
- Willingness to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
- Capability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and around heavy machinery.
- Must be able to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, climb, and balance.
- Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to regularly lift/move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to frequently step up and down from platforms and bend at the waist.
