Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardio Pulmonary Technician to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a Cardio Pulmonary Technician, you will play a critical role in the continuous monitoring and interpreting of patients' cardiac rhythms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and interpret patients' cardiac rhythms, alerting RNs to any changes or arrhythmias.
  • Document patient information according to hospital policy to ensure optimal patient safety.
  • Provide verbal reports to relief personnel and give full reports to oncoming technicians.
  • Ensure proper placement and function of equipment attached to patients.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain safe patient practice and confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; basic computer skills necessary.
  • Previous clinical experience or monitor technician experience preferred; Rhythm Analysis Technician certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International preferred.
  • Must be highly dependable, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
Working Conditions

This role involves working in a clean, well-lit environment with frequent interruptions and multiple crisis situations. You will be expected to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as necessary.

Physical Requirements

This position requires sitting and looking at computer screens for extended periods, as well as standing, bending, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers.
