Petroleum Inspector

At SGS, we are seeking a skilled Petroleum Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of bulk liquid or gaseous hydrocarbon or chemical cargo.

• Conduct thorough inspections of vessels, tanks, and shore facilities to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Sample and measure the quantity of hydrocarbons and chemicals, and reconcile transfer data to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with clients, vessel personnel, and shore facility staff to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Maintain accurate records and reports, using our proprietary Ship Inspection Report (SIR) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) systems.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry standards, regulations, and company policies to ensure compliance and quality.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 6 months to 2 years of industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required; International Federation of Inspection Agencies (IFIA) certification preferred.
• Basic level of proficiency in English, with ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
