Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurology Nurse Specialist to join our team at UW Health University Hospital. As a member of our Comprehensive Stroke Unit, you will be part of a dynamic team providing exceptional care to patients with complex neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and the latest research in neurology.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advances in neurology and stroke care.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence, quality, and safety, adhering to UW Health's standards and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Current WI nursing license or compact license from permanent address state.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
  • Successful completion of a traveler assignment (13 weeks).
  • 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Neurosurgery experience.
  • Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of Madison.

Traveler must be available to work the schedule posted in the job listing.
