Job Overview

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is in search of a skilled CNC Machining Specialist for a long-term, weekend shift opportunity within a plastics manufacturing environment. This role is essential for executing, overseeing, and enhancing machining processes while collaborating closely with operators, engineers, designers, and drafters.

Compensation: $32-$36/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of manufacturing work instructions and process definitions within a MRP II and ISO 9000 framework.
  • Collaborate with CAM/CNC operators to develop part drawings and programming.
  • Engage with Production staff and Manufacturing Engineering to boost quality, yield, and productivity.
  • Work alongside CNC operators to ensure optimal functionality of machine tools and equipment.
  • Create and refine CNC programs based on geometry and engineering drawings.
  • Transform CAD files, produce part drawings, and assess part geometry while utilizing CAM software.
  • Develop tool paths, NC codes, and setup sheets in CAM applications.
  • Complete necessary documentation related to programming tasks.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow Programmers and Machinists.
  • Conduct orientation for new employees, covering requirements and processes.
  • Manage scheduling for specific areas.
  • Act as a liaison with the Machining Manager regarding team personnel matters.

Qualifications:

  • AA Degree in Automated Manufacturing or a related field, with a focus on CNC Programming.
  • Proven ability to perform machining tasks, both manual and CNC.
  • Experience in the plastics industry is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in CNC programming and manufacturing.
  • Capability to collaborate with operators in designing and manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both machining and programming challenges.
  • Proficient in the MS Office suite.
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD, blueprint reading, and Bill of Materials.
  • Ability to read and comprehend machine codes.
  • Familiarity with appropriate tooling speeds and feeds for various materials.
  • Skilled in using and interpreting precision measuring instruments.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Availability to work FRI-SUN, 5AM-5:30PM.
