- Prepare patients and providers for the visit, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and documented.
- Provide excellent patient service through effective communication, both over the phone and in person.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including patient registration and clinical notes.
- Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, and training through ongoing professional development.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a formal medical assistant training program preferred.
- Experience working with and maintaining confidential information, including experience in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Medical Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
This role requires working in a patient care area, with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent will work in an area where patients enter, work directly with patients, and/or work with specimens that could contain communicable diseases.
The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases and may be exposed to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
