Are you eager to make a significant impact on the lives of young children and their families? Thom Child & Family Services is in search of a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to provide essential services to the pediatric population, specifically targeting children from birth to 3 years of age.

Role Responsibilities

As an Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist, your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to evaluate the developmental status of clients.
  • Delivering direct speech therapy services tailored to the developmental needs of infants and toddlers.
  • Contributing to the creation of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), focusing on setting goals and strategies for the child's development.
  • Documenting progress through notes, reports, and assessments as necessary.
  • Providing both individual and group interventions for children experiencing developmental delays.
  • Evaluating family and child strengths, concerns, and progress.
  • Coordinating services for families by managing the intervention plan, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Offering professional support to families and facilitating parent-child interactions to promote child development.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A valid Massachusetts license as a Speech-Language Pathologist or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence from ASHA.
  • Understanding of family dynamics and early childhood development principles.
  • The ability to build meaningful therapeutic relationships with children and their caregivers.
  • A commitment to providing individualized and culturally sensitive services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Adherence to confidentiality and professional standards.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and documentation.
  • A current driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Bilingual or bicultural skills are considered an asset.
