Job Summary:

As a Rivet Driver at Blue Bird, you will be responsible for driving rivets along a production line using air hammers. This role requires the ability to read production orders, fill in for Cell Leaders in their absence, and mentor and train new employees. You will also be expected to drive rivets at a rate of 30 per minute with acceptable quality and work on elevated platforms frequently throughout the shift.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Notify Cell Leaders of any issues that arise
  • Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety analysis
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Attend daily safety department meetings
  • Ability to drive rivets for a full shift plus any overtime hours
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and Blue Bird physical
  • Experience using air powered tools to drive rivets at a rate of 30 per minute with acceptable quality
  • Ability to perform repetitive work during a shift
  • Must pass Production Order Test, Writing Test, and Rivet Driving Test with air powered tools with speed and precision
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and fumes
  • Perform repetitive work
  • Fast-paced environment with moving objects, sharp edges, and congested working areas
  • Will be stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching overhead, grasping, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Performance Criteria:
  • Must meet established quality and production standards, perform any rivet driving jobs, and pass no defects to the next station
  • Practice good housekeeping
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Must meet established attendance policy and work overtime when required
  • Must perform other duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor
