Job Details:

  • Position: Full-time
  • Caseload: Elementary - further details in interview
  • Self-Contained class

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique learning needs of elementary school students, focusing on life skills development.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in a self-contained classroom setting, adapting curriculum materials to meet students' diverse needs.
  • Deliver cross-categorical instruction that addresses the functional, adaptive, communication, and social skills of students.
  • Utilize a curriculum aligned with state guidelines, modifying instruction to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess students' academic and social progress, adjusting instructional strategies and interventions as necessary to promote growth and achievement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and success.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to support students' social and emotional development.

Requirements:

  • Active Special Education Teacher license in Illinois
  • Commitment to ongoing progress for students
  • Background check and drug screening required
