Position: Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications

The University of Mary is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications with a focus on Creative Content and Video. This role is pivotal in leading the development of multimedia content aimed at enhancing the visibility of Marauders athletics across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the creation of engaging multimedia content for social media channels and marketing initiatives.
  • Capture live game footage and edit highlight reels to showcase athletic events.
  • Manage departmental social media accounts, including the formulation of an editorial calendar.
  • Coordinate in-game productions for live broadcasts and videoboards across multiple sports.
  • Assist individual teams with their social media presence and maintain the athletics website.
  • Potentially serve as the primary media contact for specific teams.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the athletics department.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, along with full-time enrollment in a graduate program.
  • Eligibility for admission to Graduate Studies at the University of Mary is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in producing various media formats, including written, visual, and video content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for graphic design and video editing.
  • A degree in communication, journalism, public relations, sports management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience in collegiate athletics or a university public relations setting is advantageous.
  • Ability to shoot and edit video content, including live action and interviews.
  • Demonstrated skills in video and photo editing, as well as graphic design using Adobe tools.
  • Strong communication abilities across oral, written, and social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with social media trends and photography is beneficial.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • Commitment to upholding the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
  • Support for the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
  • Foster a culture of hospitality within the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and the broader university community.
