Job SummaryThe College Station ISD is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse, LVN to join our team. As a key member of our health services team, you will be responsible for providing direct care to students and staff, implementing district school health programs, and working closely with the school health coordinator and school nurse (RN) to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to students and staff, utilizing a problem-solving approach as the basis for decision making in Vocational Nurse practice.
- Implement established school health protocols and participate in the planning of nursing care needs for students.
- Notify parents of accidents or illnesses and secure medical care for students in emergency cases.
- Administer medications to students at school, according to district policy and procedures.
- Implement effective procedures for mandatory screening programs and make referrals as necessary.
- Assist in continuing evaluation of campus health programs and make changes based on findings.
- Participate in health counseling and instruction to individual students and serve as a health liaison between the school, physicians, parents, and community.
- Assist in the evaluation of student problems and make appropriate referrals, working with students, teachers, parents, and medical and health care professionals as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing education program.
- Valid license to practice licensed vocational nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners.
- Certified by the Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening.
- CPR Certification.
