Tutor Specialist

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a highly skilled Tutor Specialist to provide academic support to students in various subjects. This role requires an Associate Degree in a relevant field and experience as a tutor or equivalent work experience in a related subject area.

1. Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects.
2. Help students break down and simplify complex information taught in class.
3. Integrate effective study and learning strategies to promote independent learning.
4. Maintain current and accurate records of tutoring activities.
5. Communicate with Tutoring Services Specialist to discuss additional needs or concerns of students.

1. Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in a related subject area.
2. Experience as a tutor or equivalent work experience in a related subject area.
3. Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and under-prepared and special needs students.
4. Organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
5. Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communication.

This position will enhance the learning of MPTC students by informally assessing student knowledge, identifying areas needing improvement, and providing supplemental instruction.
