Lifeguard

Are you passionate about aquatic safety and emergency response? Do you want to make a difference in your community?

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lifeguard to join our team at the YMCA of Columbia Willamette. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our members and guests while they enjoy our pool facilities.

• Act as a First Responder in emergency situations
• Perform rescues in and around the pool
• Keep your skills fresh with regular Inservice Training and Drills
• Educate members/guests on pool rules and safety
• Be a positive role model for youths in your community
• Uphold the YMCA Policies and Standards

• Be at least 16 years old
• Possess (or obtain within 30 days) a current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• Possess (or obtain within 30 days) a current CPR/AED & First Aid Certification
• Be able to pass a written/physical assessment prior to duty
• Have visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and physical ability to act swiftly in emergency situations
• Have ability to observe participant activities adequately, enforce safety regulations, and apply appropriate policies and procedures
