Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. You will work under the direct supervision of the Center Manager and under the supervision of the Center Physician for medical issues.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Evaluate and manage donor reaction(s) that occur at the facility, following applicable SOPs.
- Manage donor deferral, reviewing test results and notifying donors of unsuitable test results per applicable SOPs.
- Initiate and investigate Post Donation Information (PDI), referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary.
- Assist the EHS program as required, including conducting pre-placement evaluations of new hires and maintaining employee medical records.
- Graduate of a recognized educational program.
- Minimum of two years in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and work as a team player.
- Effective coaching and counseling skills.
