At LHC Group, we are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients in their homes.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide exercise instruction, patient education, and other therapeutic interventions to patients with various health conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical therapy, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Provides exercise instruction and patient education to patients with various health conditions
  • Works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Conducts patient assessments and monitors patient progress
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Participates in ongoing education and training to maintain certification and stay current with best practices
  • Coordinates care with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Instructs patients and their families on proper use of equipment and techniques
  • Documents patient progress and treatment plans in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • Complies with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
  • Collaborates with the physical therapy team to achieve departmental goals and objectives
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
  • Provides education to patients and their families on disease management, self-care, and prevention
Requirements
  • Current licensure, registration, or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver equipment and supplies as needed
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment
