Job Summary:

As a key member of the Histology team at Staff Icons, the Lead Histotechnologist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our histology procedures. This position requires a strong background in histology, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities:

Performs histology procedures and processes, including immunohistochemistry, according to established protocols.
Maintains a good working knowledge of the technical and instrumental aspects of the department.
Collaborates with the supervisor to organize workflow and staffing assignments to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
Ensures staff is adequately trained and cross-trained to maximize productivity.
Performs quality control, equipment maintenance, and instrument calibration as defined.
Recognizes problems, implements corrective actions, and informs the supervisor when necessary.
Writes, reviews, and updates procedure manuals to maintain regulatory compliance.
Assumes responsibility for workflow processes and ensures the continuance of smooth operations in the absence of the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Baccalaureate Degree in biological or chemical science from an accredited college or university.
ASCP Certification (HT or HTL).
At least 1 year of experience in histology.
Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (we cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time).
