Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Generator Hostels. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall appearance of our building, ensuring that all tasks related to guest comfort and satisfaction are treated with utmost priority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the building's appearance by replacing broken fixtures, carrying out general repairs, and ensuring high standards of decor and paintwork.
  • Perform preventive maintenance throughout the building, including front and back of house areas, rooms, and exterior spaces.
  • Ensure guest comfort and satisfaction by prioritizing tasks related to their experience.
  • Maintain safety and asset register records at all times.
  • Take responsibility for equipment maintenance and ensure it is ready for use at all times.
  • Comply with all statutory local legislation and regulations, including H&S, building regulations, and Fire Safety.
  • Embodies the Generator brand and culture in our social spaces.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues and other departments.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on attitude with attention to detail.
  • Ability to push, pull, grasp, lift, or carry supplies, equipment, or tools weighing up to 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for operating and repairing hotel equipment.
  • Skill in using related tools, including hand and electric tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the hotel/hospitality industry.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.
