Job Title: PEER Counselor Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate PEER Counselor Supervisor to join our team at Looking Glass Youth and Family Services. As a PEER Counselor Supervisor, you will play a critical role in providing culturally informed, effective, and quality peer services to clients at our PEER Shelter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Peer Counselors and clients at the PEER Shelter
  • Provide crisis intervention and maintain a positive milieu
  • Develop behavior management plans for youth who access services
  • Engage in conversations with clients about mental health and/or substance use
  • Provide education on the benefits of mental health and substance use treatment

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills
  • Strong boundaries
  • Clear understanding of structure and accountability
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

Availability:

Four, ten-hour shifts per week - Sunday through Wednesday 2 PM - 12 AM, Swing Shift

About the PEER Shelter:

The PEER Shelter is a 24-hour accessible, low-barrier shelter for youth ages 16-24 who are unhoused or otherwise in crisis. We emphasize harm reduction to meet our clients' basic needs and assist them in moving toward stabilization.

About the BHRN Program:

The Behavioral Health Resource Network (BHRN) is an Oregon state network, in response to Measure 110 and Oregon Senate Bill 755. Our BHRN program provides support to youth who are experiencing substance use issues.
