Family Preservation Specialist

At Envision Unlimited, we are committed to providing high-quality services to families in need. As a Family Preservation Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting families who are at risk of child welfare involvement. Your primary responsibility will be to provide short-term, intense child welfare casework services to intact families in high-risk categories. This will involve reviewing and evaluating safety and risk factors impacting child safety, arranging appropriate short-term safety plans, and developing assessments of parents' service needs. You will also be responsible for developing and completing service plans, providing follow-up to parents and families to ensure appropriate linkages have been made with service providers, and reviewing and evaluating progress. Additionally, you will provide immediate oversight to families who are requesting non-investigatory prevention services and prepare and maintain case documentation.

Responsibilities:

Conduct in-person contact with children, biological parents, and foster/relative care providers as required by DCFS

Schedule and facilitate required Child and Family Team meetings, engaging children and families in the process

Monitor parent-child interactions, as required

Transport clients as needed

Obtain consents from families and service providers

Assist families with community resources

Provide ongoing training pertaining to DCFS requirements

Provide counseling and support services to families

Refer children and families to other services if necessary
