Job Summary

The Senior Construction Estimator will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating daily construction management activities. This role will function from the main office and require site visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work cohesively with the Estimating Coordinator to manage and fulfill all requirements for bid submission.
  • Responsible for understanding and completing projects from bid through review of plans and specifications in their entirety, including site visits and pre-bid meetings as applicable.
  • Responsible for interpreting bid documents and creating spreadsheets that summarize the scope of work completely, including generating and tracking RFI questions, reviewing, and processing agendas.
  • Prepare takeoffs as necessary based on the nature of the project and anticipated trade coverage.
  • Manage minority business goals, wage scale requirements, bid alternates, unit prices, and other residual components of a compliant bid submission. Clearly communicate requirements to bidding trade contractors when applicable to their work.
  • Create bidders lists for projects and solicit trade contractors' participation through the online bid manager program. Track bid participation closely and review with the Estimating Director at timely intervals.
  • Develop and distribute project trade scopes of work as necessary.
  • Actively communicate with subcontractors throughout the bid process to coordinate scope.
  • Foster relationships with new trade contractors and maintain relationships with existing trade contractors.
  • For awarded projects, negotiate scope and price with anticipated trade contractors, formalize agreements by issuing letters of intent.
  • Conduct turnover meetings with project managers outlining project scope of work, notable components, and buyout status.
  • Represent the Estimating Department for projects in preconstruction, budgeting of larger projects, increased owner and design team interaction, value engineering, and assistance in establishing and developing scope packages.

Compensation details: $90,000-$120,000 yearly salary
