We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing essential services to homeless Veterans and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and engage Veterans who are homeless, marginally housed, and/or underutilize VA services
- Provide a range of social work services, including assessment and referrals, clinical treatment, short-term case management, advocacy and service coordination, and linkage with VA and community services
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide individual, group, and family therapy
- Develop and implement treatment plans to address the complex needs of homeless Veterans
- Provide education and support to Veterans and their families on advance directives and advanced care planning
- Collaborate with community agencies and organizations to provide comprehensive services to homeless Veterans
- Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
- Licensure or certification in a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level
- Experience working with homeless Veterans and their families
- Strong assessment and treatment planning skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
This is a full-time position with a regular tour of duty. The incumbent will work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to work effectively in a team setting. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance. The incumbent must also be able to work in a variety of settings, including the San Francisco VA Medical Center and the Downtown CBOC.
