About Our Team:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Director to join our team at Kauai Care Center, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility on the beautiful Garden Island of Kauai. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of our community, equipment, and safety systems, adhering to regulatory guidelines and testing protocols.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Train staff on emergency mitigation protocols and safety procedures.
  • Refurbish resident rooms between tenants to maintain a high level of cleanliness and comfort.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including on-call, to ensure resident safety and respond to maintenance requests promptly.
  • Monitor and control supplies and equipment to avoid loss, breakage, and waste.

Requirements:
  • Three years of related experience in electrical repairs, plumbing, or carpentry, with a focus on cost management and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work positively and effectively with others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to resident safety and satisfaction.
  • Compassion and interest in working with the senior population, with a focus on providing high-quality care and services.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
