Job Summary:
The West County Transportation Agency is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Vehicle Maintenance and Facilities Department as a Transportation Maintenance Technician. This full-time position will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on school buses and other vehicles, as well as assisting with custodial work, grounds maintenance, and other related duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on school buses and other vehicles, including fueling, oil changes, and tire rotations
- Assist with custodial work, including cleaning buses and facilities
- Perform grounds maintenance tasks, such as mowing, pruning, and weeding
- Drive a school bus when requested
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in vehicle maintenance or a related field
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
