Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct thorough patient assessments, explaining healthcare policies and procedures to patients and their families, reviewing medical histories, and addressing inquiries in a professional manner. Evaluate patients' gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, and neurological health status, adjusting care plans as necessary, and documenting findings accurately.

2. Assess the psychosocial health of patients, understanding their perceptions of care and expectations. Identify coping mechanisms, knowledge levels, and cultural needs to enhance patient satisfaction and reduce anxiety.

3. Establish measurable patient outcomes and identify potential issues. Develop individualized goals based on comprehensive assessments.

4. Prioritize care activities and manage resources effectively to achieve desired outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to document and implement care plans.

5. Execute care plans while maintaining patient safety and comfort. Reassess patients regularly, adjust care plans as needed, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.

6. Measure and document the effectiveness of care provided, performing variance analysis for continuous improvement in patient outcomes.

7. Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement treatment plans, providing guidance and support to team members.

8. Accurately interpret and follow treatment regimens as prescribed, assisting physicians during procedures and keeping them informed of any changes in patient conditions.

9. Perform essential skin care and preventive measures, applying dressings and maintaining aseptic techniques as required.

10. Administer medications safely and correctly, educating patients about potential interactions and side effects.

11. Engage in patient and family education, providing clear explanations of conditions and care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of educational efforts.

12. Undertake additional duties as necessary, recognizing that all responsibilities are essential functions of the role.

Qualifications

Must be a graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and complete the degree within five years of employment. A current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State is required, along with any necessary specialized certifications.

Salary Information

The salary range for this position is $98,760-$137,043 per year, reflecting a good faith estimate of potential compensation based on various factors such as location, specialty, and experience.
