Position Overview

The Sandwich Specialist welcomes and serves customers, prepares menu items, upholds food safety and sanitation standards, and manages light administrative tasks. Outstanding customer service is a key aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities


• The crew member presents a friendly and helpful demeanor while serving customers and preparing their meals.


• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of menu offerings and accurately conveys this information to customers.


• Utilizes the Point of Sale system/cash register to process orders and calculate the total cost. Collects payments and provides change as necessary.


• Executes Cash-In Procedures, ensuring accurate accounting for all monetary transactions and inventory during the shift.


• Prepares food items neatly and promptly, adhering to established formulas.


• Monitors inventory in the sandwich preparation area and replenishes supplies to maintain adequate stock throughout the shift.


• Complies with food handling, safety, and sanitation standards during food preparation, service, and cleanup.


• Cleans and maintains all areas of the restaurant to uphold a tidy appearance, following the Wash, Rinse, and Sanitize cleaning method.


• Adheres to all quality standards, formulas, and procedures as outlined in the Subway Operations Manual: Daily Procedures.


• Maintains a professional appearance and grooming standards as specified in the Subway Operations Manual: Daily Procedures.


• Completes light administrative tasks as assigned.


• Participates in University of Subway training courses as directed.

Prerequisites

Education: Some high school education or equivalent.

Experience: No prior experience necessary.

Essential Functions

Ability to comprehend and execute both written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements: Must be capable of working in any area of the restaurant as needed and operating a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. The position involves bending, standing, and walking throughout the workday. Must be able to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Full Time/Part Time and Day Shift/Weekend Shift positions vary by location.
