Required Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) is mandatory.

Experience:

No prior experience is necessary.

Licensure:

Active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent, along with Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association valid for at least six months post-hire.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull various weights regularly, including 25-50 pounds frequently. Candidates must be capable of standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The work environment may expose individuals to communicable diseases and other hazards.

Work Schedule:

Must be available to work three 12-hour night shifts weekly, including weekends and holidays as required.

Job Overview:

As a Clinical Nurse in the Trauma and Acute Care Surgical Center, you will provide comprehensive care for adult patients facing trauma or surgical emergencies. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and documenting patient care.
  • Developing and implementing individualized nursing care plans.
  • Delivering direct patient care and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Training and supervising Nursing Care Technicians.
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Essential Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of basic human needs and health patterns.
  • Strong critical thinking and direct patient care skills.
  • Basic computer skills and internet navigation.
  • Effective communication abilities with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Supervisory Role:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and at least one year of nursing experience are preferred.
