Position Summary:

We are in search of skilled Stenographic Court Reporters to deliver exceptional reporting services. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing live testimonies during legal proceedings and ensuring the timely production of precise verbatim transcripts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer oaths to witnesses.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and assist clients with any technological issues.
  • Utilize CAT software to stenographically report legal proceedings.
  • Oversee exhibit markings and manage exhibit retention as required.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate verbatim transcripts punctually.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with a proactive attitude and the ability to independently resolve issues.
  • Proven capability to quickly learn and troubleshoot new technologies, effectively communicating solutions to others.
  • Technologically adept, with experience managing CAT software and hosting remote depositions across various platforms.
  • Highly organized and efficient, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Strong grammar and punctuation skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCRA membership is preferred.
  • Certifications such as RPR, RMR, CRR, and NYCRC are encouraged but not mandatory.
  • Experience with videoconferencing tools like Zoom and Webex is advantageous.

Educational Requirements:

  • A degree or certification from an accredited court reporting program with a minimum writing speed.
  • Must be a Notary Public in the state of residence, with the ability to obtain additional notary commissions as required.
