About the Role:
The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures for pediatric patients at Boston Children's Hospital. This includes reviewing requisitions, evaluating patient charts, and determining the appropriateness of procedures prescribed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures
- Abstracts data from patient charts and determines appropriateness of procedure prescribed
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy
- Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions
- Explains the examination and answers questions from patients and parents regarding radiation exposure
- Follows departmental QC/data integrity workflow
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient and creates a supportive environment
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings
- Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Complies with ETU and HIPAA regulations
- Practices the 6 core values of the hospital: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability
- Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards
Requirements:
- An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required
- MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
