Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Medsurg Tele/Stroke Unit team. As a LPN, you will provide direct patient care to assigned patients, working under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in gathering data to assess the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients.
  • Collaborate with the registered nurse and interdisciplinary team members in planning for the needs of patients upon admission.
  • Review care plans and provide input into updating and revising.
  • Support direct patient care to assigned patients, utilizing clinical nursing skills and judgment.
  • Provide education and reinforcement of education for patients and family, and document outcomes in the medical record.
  • Initiate appropriate emergency measures when patient's condition dictates need.
  • Prepare patients for tests and procedures.
  • Administer and document medications according to policy and procedure.
  • Delegate care to non-licensed personnel and report to the Registered nurse.
  • Report to the Registered nurse with a thorough, concise report on patient condition changes or evaluation of interventions.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification) - not required for Hospice employee.
  • Ability to stand and walk almost constantly (up to 90% of work time) and occasionally (up to 50% of work time) lifting and positioning patients.
Working Conditions
  • Normal patient care environment with exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
  • Possibly exposed to adverse working conditions due to performance of patient care activities and exposure to communicable diseases.

Pay Range

$32.67

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, and alignment with our organizational needs.
