The successful candidate will have a strong background in geriatric care and experience in developing and implementing activities programs. You will be responsible for coordinating the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a diversified wellness program based on resident needs, interests, and present/past lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a resident-centered activities program that promotes physical, spiritual, social, intellectual, creativity, leisure, community, and one-to-one activities.
  • Coordinate and implement activities for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, including community events related to resident needs and interests.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident activities and needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of infection control, OSHA, safety, and federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Satisfy all educational in-service requirements mandated by CHI Living Communities, the department, external accrediting, and regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

Education: 90-hour Basic Activity Course, OT, or OTA preferred or Certified Activity Specialist. Experience: Two years of experience in social or recreational programs in long-term care preferred.
